Glimpses is a science fiction Rock 'n' Roll book. About a guy who travels through time to go back to the 60's to help Brian Wilson, Jim Morrison & Jimi Hendrix finish unfinsihed albums. It's a great book, in the 3 years after I 1st discovered it I read it once a year, that happens rarely. It's written by Lewis Shiner who I think is a vastly underrated writer, he has a new book out it's not science fiction or anything but man does not live by bread alone, right? You can check out his site at www.lewisshiner.com

Sounds interesting, when I have time may have to pick it up:)

Shiner is such a good writer but for whatever reason he doesn't have the visibilty he deserves. I think he may have had problems with the mainstream publisher, agent because he hasn't published a novel since 99 & his new book is with a small, small publisher. You can find an inexpensive copy of Glimpses on Amazon.

Shiner's amazing, definitely one of my favorites. I'll have to add this to the ever-growing wish list ;)
I just finished Paolo Bacigalupi's Pump Six; excellent work.
